Whether it’s a complete remodeling or the updating of existing finishes, the kitchen is one of the main investments in a home and often a space where the most time is spent. The right design decisions are paramount to insuring its success and the owner’s enjoyment.

Traditional Distressed Kitchen

Aesthetically pleasing kitchen has all the modern conveniences well hidden but at arms length

  • Paneled refrigerator & dishwashers drawers

  • Island cabinet countertop has enough overhang for seating all the way around

  • Gas fireplace set high enough to enjoy the view over the island

  • Turned legs adorn the sink & fireplace bump-out

  • Microwave hidden behind pantry pocket doors

  • Raised panel distressed and glazed maple cabinets

  • Granite countertops

  • Arched sink valance mimics the fireplace arch

  • Undercabinet lighting through-out

A black wall oven was installed under the black ceramic cooktop to keep the cabinetry a focal point

  • Full height slab granite backsplash

  • Wood hood keeps the visual line of the cabinetry continuous

  • Oil rubbed bronze cabinet hardware

  • Textured glass cabinets for display

Traditional Cherry Kitchen

The open plan of the kitchen meant dressing up the space to flow evenly with the family room cherry furniture

  • Shallow depth cabinets under the wide expanse of windows

  • Granite countertops

  • Limestone backsplash tile

  • Paneled refrigerator and dishwasher

  • Mitered glazed cherry cabinetry doors

  • Oak floors pulled in from the rest of the home

  • ½ bullnose edge on the raised snack bar

  • Patterned glass doors for display

Large highly functional island creates another work surface while keeping the cook in the midst of the entertainment

  • Paneled dishwasher

  • Satin nickel pull-out gooseneck faucet & satin nickel filtered faucet

  • Oil rubbed bronze slender and decorative cabinet hardware

  • Cast iron biscuit uneven bowl undermount sink

Contemporary Intimate Kitchen

The slow low vaulted ceiling demanded a stepped cabinet approach while being open to the dining room. Cabinetry is defined by the slab doors and drawers in a quarter sawn natural oak species & cut to keep the smaller space light and airy. A wall oven installed in the base cabinets allow the streamlined cabinets to continue without a break

  • Clean line defined by the long simple pulls that also tie in the appliances
  • 18" tiles are used for the backsplash for the minimum visual line
  • Peninsula is open below to allow for a bar stool for that "quick" snacking
  • Fun whimsical cable fixtures are used for the general illumination
  • Undercabinet low voltage lighting thru-out
  • Patterned glass cabinet doors allow for a distorted yet visual into the cabinets

Craftsman Inspired Kitchen

The clean lines of this custom natural cherry cabinetry are broken with small curves from the cabinet hardware.

  • Large single bowl clay farm sink

  • Oil rubbed bronze lighting, cabinet hardware & appliance pulls

  • Living finish kitchen faucets

  • Refrigerator panels on opposing appliances

  • Large butcher block painted island at baking height

  • Granite is used on perimeter countertops

  • Stepped crown molding keeps the lines geometric

  • Low voltage dropped pendants compliment the red island

This large kitchen contains a walk-in pantry in the corner, built-in seating in the adjacent corner under the windows & warm-floor heating

  • Lowered baking island allows for grandchildren to pull up a stool

  • Bright yellow custom made subway tiles are used for the backsplash

  • Staggering depths of the cabinetry allow a visual break from the horizontal lines

  • Under cabinet lighting thru-out

  • Dropped pendants provide task lighting

  • Raised snack bar provides a shield from the dining room

The homeowners existing red AGA stove was the inspiration for the kitchen

  • Custom tiles in a random pattern compliment the fabulous stove

  • The range backsplash keeps the focal point on the stove

  • Pendants & island color repeat the stove color

  • Natural cherry interior doors flow with the cabinets

Country Inspired Kitchen

The bold use of red as a compliment to the white molding and the black countertops warms the space without overpowering it. The homeowners SS professional grade range was to be the focal point

  • Natural cherry flat panel cabinets

  • Black honed granite countertops

  • Pierced metal dropped light fixtures and bridge faucet keep the space less formal

  • Undercabinet lighting

  • Simple curved satin nickel pulls embellish the simple lines of the cabinetry

  • Staggering heights at the island allow for bar height stools

Open shelves and the large center island make this space easy to use and keep the traffic flow out of the cooking area. Keeping the wall cabinets to a minimum allowed us to pull in and really pop the paint color

  • 5-piece drawer fronts

  • Large two member crown molding keeps with the traditional and casual feel

  • 18 gauge SS undermount sink repeats the use of the brushed metal

Bathroom remodeling is one of America's most popular major home improvements. Everyone loves a beautiful bathroom, big or small. A fresh new look with custom finishes and personal touches will brighten your home life and increase the overall value of your property. A fresh new look with custom finishes and personal touches will brighten your home life and increase the overall value of your property.

Custom Marble Vanity

Designed the Carrara marble vanity to have open fully tiled storage below.

  • Mirrors are polished chrome and pivot

  • 6" white wall tile runs from floor to ceiling behind and adjacent to vanity

  • Polished chrome wall mount lavatory faucets

  • Built-in storage cabinet on the right of the vanity

Clerestory Windows

Gutted two smaller ¾ baths and created one larger full bath with a separate shower and water closet. I wanted to pull some natural light in to the space by adding clerestory windows to the water closet, which housed the only window in the room. To keep some symmetry on the wall I added a smaller clerestory window to the shower.

  • White 6" square tile wainscoting runs ¾ up the wall

  • Used a darker paint color to offset the stark white wainscoting tile

  • Wanted the space to feel open, airy and larger

  • Programmable in-floor heating

Custom Marble Air Bath

The goal of the project was to keep clean lines and a slightly modern feel without creating a "cold" space.

  • Air tub that would allow for the use of salts/oils/bubble baths

  • Built-in niche for soaps, sponges & candles

  • Walls behind tub are floor to ceiling 6" white tile

  • Tub deck is 12" Carrara marble tile

  • Tub skirt is 6" white tile (consistent with all vertical surfaces)

Classical Bath

Lower level bath remodel is an oddly shaped space make this classical marble & painted vanity a custom fit. The white floor tile is then carried into the large steam shower which houses four water outputs.

  • Painted millwork & plantation shutters

  • Marble countertop & side splashes

  • Marble floor border

  • 12" white porcelain floor tile inside marble border

  • Polished brass faucets, accessories & lighting

Classical Bath Steam Shower

Huge steam shower adjacent to the work out room in this lower level bath remodel. The white in the tiles are pulled from the center floor tile installation from the bath

  • White 4" x 8" subway tiles are installed in a brick pattern on the walls and ceiling

  • White hex tile adorns the floor

  • Cedar benches line both walls

Traditionally Classical Bath

A mixture of finishes complete this large master bath remodel, giving the space visual & textural interest while keeping the undertones warm

  • Onyx countertops

  • China undermount sinks

  • Brushed brass faucets

  • Alder vanity cabinet with amber glass cabinet hardware

  • Oil rubbed bronze lighting & accessories

  • Programmable warm-floor installed

  • 18" porcelain tile installed at a diagonal on the floor

  • Crisp white bath fixtures give the feel of clean & pop the veining in the onyx

Traditionally Classical Shower

By pulling in some of the onyx used for the vanity countertop there is a repetition that is important to the cohesiveness of the space. The heavy glass & brass shower enclosure had not been installed when this photo was taken. To keep the field tile subtle I used the same tile and ran it in different directions to create visual interest without upstaging the onyx

  • Amber glass chair rail caps the tub-splash

  • Amber glass liner tiles frame the onyx focal point on the shower wall

Specifying several layers of lighting allows rooms to be highly functional while accentuating specific details.

Contemporary Cable Lighting

The vaulted ceiling in this contemporary home posed a problem as the homeowners wanted task lighting for reading without the use of floor or table lamps

  • Cable lighting with two different fixtures provide general lighting

  • Wall mount low voltage fixtures provide task lighting

Monorail Lighting

A monorail lighting system was used to achieve the contemporary general lighting for the space while dropping glass fixtures over the glass & granite topped island. Custom supports for the raised snack bar mimic the dropped eat-in kitchen seating fixtures

  • Staggering heights for the dropped fixture draw the eye up

  • Soft colored lenses add interest & "pop"

Designing fireplace mantles and custom furniture pieces to exactly fit the aesthetic of the space maintains the visual flow and reinforces the style.

Traditional Shelf Mantle

Refaced an existing outdated brick façade while converting a wood burning unit with a gas insert.

  • Pulling the lines from the adjacent kitchen crown molding for the shelf mantle

  • Country ledgestone drystack manufactured stone facing

  • Raised manufactured stone monolith hearth

  • Remote controlled gas unit

Craftsman Shelf Mantle

Traditional style floor to ceiling stone façade with floating mantle

  • Shelf mantle carries the geometric lines from the cabinetry

  • Country ledgestone manufactured stone facing for fireplace

  • Raised manufactured stone monolith hearth

  • Remote controlled gas unit

  • Entertainment center is cherry with built-in speaker cloth

  • Vertical grain caramelized bamboo flooring

Custom furniture

Sometimes existing furniture size/scale/color doesn't exactly meet the needs of the rooms so designing custom pieces to fit the spaces is necessary.

Windows are made better than they ever have been but privacy, temperature, direction & view may dictate the necessity for window treatments. Sun exposure will fade fabrics and change wood color. While insulating treatments keep rooms warmer or cooler depending on the need. Shades and blinds can be highly customized to work seamlessly with home automation systems while being beautiful.
